baseball collecting?

i recently started collecting baseball cards again more this time around for an investment than anything. but even at 32 i still catch myself smiling and rembering all the old players and names. ive been buying most of my cards off of ebay and was wondering if thats the best way or my local card shop, im sure both are just as good as the other. we are expecting triplets..YES I said TRIPLETS..lol…2 boys and 1 girl in november december sometime and im trying to get a small collection started for them as well but something that will collect value as they grow older and possibly help out fiancialy with there education as well. so i guess my main question is where can i look for un-weighed, un miked, un searched cards that might bring some good value?
