Baseball Card Collecting?
Tuesday, July 28th, 2009lll asked:
I am helping my 10yo start collecting baseball cards. He is starting with this years 2008 series from Upper Deck. What exactly is the goal? How do you know if you have a complete team or set, series, or whatever? Is there a beckett thats says how many make up a complete team? Keep in mind he is starting with 2008 series. Thanks
Heather

Come to think of it, I never see card shops anymore. Are the newer cards still good collectibles. How much do you have to pay for new cards and sets. Anything about the subject would be appreciated. I am considering purchasing some new cards, but don’t know if its worth it. Can one actually sell a valuable card?

I collected baseball cards in the late 1980’s. I have rookie cards and series for 1987, 1988, 1989 (Fleer sets,Topps Donruss sets, 1989 Original sealed Upper Deck set -rookie cards - Ken Griffey Jr. Barry Bonds Mark McGuire - and much more. How should I sell it? One lot at a card show? Ebay? Local City? I need to unload this large commodity, but I want to maximize my earnings. How would you sell it?

I am looking to collect baseball cards with my son. times must have changed. can someone explain the insert cards vs series one, vs series two, where do I start a collection would be my basic question. All info is appreciated. Also does one set tend to be more valuable then the other. Or is there A large difference between brands?
